Mission & Vision
The Puerto Rico Environmental Action Lab (PREAL) serves as a hub for sustainability, education, and community resilience in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Our mission is to foster community-led environmental innovation by empowering students, educators, and local residents to co-create solutions rooted in ecological stewardship and sustainable design. Through hands-on learning and regenerative development, PREAL aims to cultivate a future where environmental justice and climate resilience thrive.
Community Impact
Set to open in late 2025, PREAL will become a landmark for sustainable development in Puerto Rico and beyond. The lab will feature student-designed housing, a food forest, and collaborative spaces that promote ecological learning and community empowerment. By centering local resources and grassroots participation, PREAL creates opportunities for residents to engage directly with climate solutions.
PREAL’s work addresses urgent environmental challenges by blending education, sustainability, and action. As a living model of regenerative infrastructure, the lab will serve as an inspiration for communities worldwide—demonstrating how place-based innovation and environmental justice can shape a more resilient future.
